Thunder in the middle of winter?  That's the question I asked yesterday when I heard rumbling.  It was rather warm, so I thought it was going to rain.  A couple minutes later, it started snowing.  My mom chimes in, "That's called thundersnow-- that means it's going to snow a lot!"  If you know my mom, you'd probably think that she was joking around like she usually does.  I wondered why I had never heard of that before.  She made the excuse that it doesn't happen often.  I had a hard time believing her until we got about 4" of snow in just 2 hrs.  I guess I shouldn't question my mom's wisdom so much.

My students apparently can.  My eyes give away the answer... so a student says.  I asked him if he could read my eyes.  Another student replied with a smile, " no, I can't see any letters in your eyes."  Then the first student said, "I can see my reflection in your eyes." 

Well, I don't know about my eyes being able to reflect an image or spell out words, but I'm sure my eyes must have shown my excitement at being able to actually teach again after testing all of our 90+ ESL students for 3 weeks!  I just hope this excitement lasts another 6 weeks until the end of school.
